Ogden Neighborhood Real Estate
Situated in the Second and Third Plain area of Vancouver, the Ogden neighborhood was first established as one of the “instant cities” commissioned by the Vancouver Housing Authority during WWII to house some of the many shipbuilders moving to the area. Named after Peter S. Ogden, an employee of the original Hudson’s Bay Company at Fort Vancouver, this neighborhood maintains strong ties to its unique history even as it continues to experience exceptional growth in economy and housing.
An eclectic mix of housing styles characterizes the Ogden neighborhood, with an array of single family structures, and residential subdivisions surrounding large swaths of undeveloped land. Vancouver Mall and Vancouver Plaza are also located in the Ogden area, as well as several locally owned restaurants, boutiques and ethnic diners.
Commuting to inner-Vancouver neighborhoods and outlying recreational destinations is made easy by Ogden’s close proximity to State Route 500, Andresen Road and Fourth Plain Boulevard. The Burnt Bridge Creek Greenway provides an excellent option for local exploration, while the lovely day park adjacent to Peter S. Ogden Elementary features play equipment, picnic areas and plenty of open lawn space for community events and outdoor family gatherings. Several stands of mature trees and untouched open spaces add to the rural, family friendly atmosphere of this attractive neighborhood.
